Dear Neighbors, who have rentals,
As we gear up for the craziness of Spring Break,
Please consider sending information on the location of your hotel,
Including latitude/longitude, all phone numbers, satellite image of your place,
Address and the various names of your facility and cabins,
To the Terlingua Fire and EMS station (msmith@terlinguafire.com).
If your peeps need an ambulance, there is no way, right now,
That those poor EMT heroes can find and aid the hapless sickperson.

Veterans Event
For you adventurous souls an upcoming Veterans Event is being planned in Alpine Texas on the 12th of May in the VFW Hall on 6th street, see attached flyer, from 9AM until 5PM or so.  All the county veterans from Brewster, Terrell, Pecos, Presidio, Jeff Davis, and elsewhere are invited.  We have the Mobile Vet Center from Midland/Odessa going to be onsite plus the VCSOs from at least Brewster and Ector counties, we’re working on the VCSOs from Pecos, Presidio and Jeff Davis- they were there the last time and really helped out.  Plus we are working on getting TVC education and Healthcare to show up also. TVC Claims will be onsite also.  We did this the last time about three years ago and had a great turnout, this is a combined NE and SW districts Veteran Fair since it is so remote.

In partnership with Big Bend Ranch State Park, the film will be screening on Friday, March 6 at 7:00pm at the Cinnabar Theater in Terlingua, Texas. The event is free and open to the public. A suggested donation of $5 will be collected at the door, and all donations will go to Compadres del Rancho Grande.

Veterans History Project…Two decades ago the Library of Congress created what's known as the Veterans History Project to preserve and make accessible personal accounts of American war veterans so that future generations will be able to hear directly from veterans and better understand their selfless service.
We want to collect as many pieces of history from TX-23 veterans as possible for the Project. My Brewster County district representative Taylor Puente and my Military and Veterans Liaison Ashley Estep are going to be in Alpine to film and take written accounts from veterans on Thursday, March 26th. This link will tell you more:

If you have any questions regarding the local office hours or the Veterans History Project, please contact Taylor Puente (210) 699-1274 or Ashley Estep (210) 921-3130. Walk ins are welcome.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to my office with any questions or concerns. Receive continued updates on my work for you by
