BREWSTER COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ‑‑ we’ve received a number of reports of scam phone calls recently. The scam calls are in reference to warrants, citations, and subpoenas for several Brewster County courts. The caller threatens fines and even jail time if these matters aren’t handled. As always, don’t give out personal or financial information over the phone. When in doubt, contact the appropriate court directly, during business hours, to confirm any outstanding matters.

 TERLINGUA MOON

November  20, 2023
by Terlingua Thinking Team

“I wanted to take mental illnesses and emotional disorders out of the closet, to let people know it is all right to admit having a problem without fear of being called crazy. If only we could consider mental illnesses as straightforwardly as we do physical illnesses, those affected could seek help and be treated in an open and effective way.” - Rosalynn Carter

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS

Many thanks to all that helped to make this year’s Dia de los Muertos celebration in the cemetery such a success.  The number of people that participated and the reverence shown was overwhelming.  Everyone’s time, food, and talents were most appreciated.

Special thanks to Cynta and Bryn and others for organizing the post Day of the Dead locals memorial.  What a beautiful and appropriate tribute to those members of our community that have passed.  In their own way, each contributed to that extraordinary fiber that makes Terlingua so special.  May the Spirit of Terlingua and its sense of community live on forever.

Bill Ivey
