--Local art, handcrafted textile goods, goat milk soap, all natural lip balms and skin care products, essential oil perfumes, Zoey's leather goods, handcrafted, creative jewelry, including Kim's, many made with local stones, block printed textiles and vintage goods, both curated and upcycled, practical and artistic items made of reclaimed steel, Sandy's super cute pop-up shop and more -- you never know just what or who you'll find here. Indeed, lately, chess players have been meeting up for a game or two or three.

--We welcome new vendors. Flea market items are also welcome. After all, reusing and up-cycling already existing items is smart and green. We request a $10 donation to the Community Garden to set up, helping us to continue to improve this space and experience for all. For more information, text or call 432.213.1863, email SherriTheWriter@aol.com or pop into the market for a chat.  Prepared food vendors must display a current food handling license. [Editor’s Comment:] The MOON does not represent ANY political party or ANY religious beliefs.  The MOON prints what we are sent IF the submission is informative, correct, and POLITE.  Our goal is to provide INFORMATION to the Community.  PERIOD. The following submission is presented in that INTENT.  This was submitted by a long-time local and this Editor knows that several of the MOON Editors probably do not agree with the entirety of the post.  This is presented to the community as INFORMATION—not Electioneering!!!

The 2024 Democratic and Republican primaries are coming sooner than most people realize: January 1 is the first day Texans can request an absentee ballot.  February 5 is the last day to register to vote in the primaries.  Early voting begins February 20 and ends March 1.  February 23 is the last day to register to vote by mail.  Election Day for the primaries is March 5.

--At present, many voters know very little about some of the primary candidates.  The Jeff Davis County Democratic Party will provide needed information about candidates in contested Democratic primaries.  However, county Democratic parties cannot endorse candidates in contested primaries.

--Our first effort is Texas Congressional District 23, where Santos Limon and Lee Bausinger are competing to face Tony Gonzales, the Republican incumbent, in the November General Election. Santos Limon and Lee Bausinger both maintain websites and Facebook pages. All three counties in our tri-county area (Brewster, Presidio, Jeff Davis) fall within CD 23.

---***---

PLEASE REMEMBER: The Moon is a collection of what is sent to it; to help be an informed community, inform The Moon!

We don’t print it, if we don’t get it!!!
