In the last month, TerlinguaCares, a non-profit, has paid water bills, bought two hot water heaters, and paid quite a few medical bills including gas and motels, etc. to get to the medical.

We've got some money left.  If need be, we'll raise more.

The pace has picked up, but I'm surprised it hasn't been more hectic.

We deal in relatively small numbers, but it's amazing how much difference a small amount of money can make for people who are truly in need.

If you know someone who is truly in need, have them contact me.  I'm easy to find online and I'm in the phone book.  Mike at the Crisis Center is also good about referring people to TerlinguaCares if you'd rather talk to him.

BIG SALE 
happening Friday, January 1st and Saturday, January 2nd, starting 10:00 a.m.  Let's help our friend Nita Brashear sell her stuff, furniture, dishes, wall hangings, lamps, bedroom sets, women's and men's clothes, and much more. Located on Terlingua Ranch on Beechie Road 1st house on the right.

HELP KEEP OTHERS WARM AND THEN GO ON A HIKE
In place of our annual First Day Hike on January 1st, Big Bend Ranch State Park is offering FREE day-use permits in exchange for a donation of an item of warm clothing (hats, gloves, sweaters, scarves, etc.). Donations will go to local families in need. We encourage you to participate in self-guided First Day Hikes and share your mileage and experiences with our rangers.

EARTH AND FIRE GALLERY
SAM•U•L (aka Sam Richardson) will be guest artist at Earth and Fire Gallery in the Ghost Town, Dec. 25 through Jan.1. The  show will feature paintings, drawings, graphics and books by the artist. SAM•U•L  is a recovering Big Bend river guide and newspaper editor, who is now living and working in Taos, New Mexico. He lived in Terlingua for 17 years where he river guided, coordinated the Elderhostel Program, ran tours all over old Mexico, edited the Lajitas Sun, wrote columns for the Alpine Avalanche and Big Bend Sentinel and filed free-lance feature stories about the Big Bend with large market state dailies.

THE TERLINGUA BOTTOMS GROUP of AA 
meets every Thursday at 7:30 at the Big Bend Church in Study Butte. The meetings are open to anyone who has or thinks they may have a drinking problem. We meet in a group of less than five, wear masks, and practice Social Distancing.
