Local art, handcrafted textile goods, fresh eggs, sour dough bread, all natural lip balms and skin care products, all natural essential oil fragrances, beard oil and massage oils, handcrafted, creative jewelry, resin creations, block printed textiles and vintage goods, both curated and upcycled, practical and artistic items made of reclaimed steel and more -- you never know just what or who you'll find here.
Flea market items are also welcome. After all, reusing and up-cycling already existing items is smart and green. We ask a $10 donation to the Community Garden to set up, helping us to continue to improve this space and experience for all of us.
We welcome new vendors. To make it easy for new vendors to try our market and to show our appreciation to our regular vendors, we waive set-up fees on the first Saturday of the month, offering free set-up on that day.

Fundraising request from Alpine Humane Society:
Alpine Humane Society is a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded in 1986 to help the City of Alpine's pets and shelter. AHS was instrumental in partnering with the city to construct the current animal shelter, the pet crematory, and the Kokernot Dog Park. We maintain a Pet Food Pantry for community pets in need, a helpline with expert advice and resources, funds for community veterinary care, and our Cattery as an interactive showcase for homeless cats and kittens that are vetted before adoption. Our Thrift Store generates about a third of our operating expenses to continue this necessary work.
Our main fundraiser each year is Dia de los Quesos, a queso and salsa contest, live music, and a silent auction at the Alpine Civic Center on Saturday, Oct 25th, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Please consider donating good-quality collectibles, art, jewelry, tools, gift certificates, and other items of value. We will also accept sponsorships for the event of $100 or more and will acknowledge sponsors on social media and at the event. All donations are eligible for a tax-deductible donation receipt.
Please contact us for donation pick up at 432-837-2532, 432-837-3400 ormaryann@alpinehumanesociety.org or mandi@alpinehumanesociety.org

Hello Terlingua, we are having a garage sale at the Ghosttown Crisis Center. We plan to install Friday Oct 17th and sell Saturday Oct 18th. It's open to the community to buy and sell. Time to get rid of all the clutter or just sell the stuff they've made. We have space outside and inside, and a few tables available. There is no cost to set up and sell, but small donations to the centre are appreciated. The only condition is that what is not sold is taken by the seller. For more information: 432-371-3147

TERLINGUA MUSIC BASH/ MARK (“eYeBall”) KNEESKERN MEMORIAL ART SCHOLARSHIP
It's just a month (Oct 16-19) until the 2025 Terlingua Music Bash. We are actively putting the list of auction items together so that we can host a portion of the auction online. The silent (and online) auction help fund the scholarship which is awarded to a graduating senior of Big Bend High School - Terlingua CSD. Last year’s recipient is pursuing a BFA at Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
If you are a friend of Mark’s, of the Terlingua community, of the arts - especially art for the youth of Terlingua - please consider making a donation. Nothing is too small! And a world of thanks to those who have already donated.
For those who may not have known him, Mark was a beloved member of the Terlingua community. You’ve no doubt seen his art around town at The Starlight, The Boathouse, sculptures around town, the community garden, and more
Mark died in a tragic accident in 2014. His love for Terlingua, especially Terlingua's children and the arts, has been kept alive in many ways. One of those ways is this scholarship in his memory.
Please email cabin10org@gmail.com or Sharronis@gmail.com if you have an item to donate and we'll reach out to you directly.
The scholarship is managed by Cabin 10, a 501(c)(3) and you can find more information about the scholarship (and The Bash) here: https://cabin10.org/terlingua-music-bash.
We are also looking for some volunteers to help with the auction. You can email cabin10org@gmail.com or sharronis@gmail.com or text/ call Sha at 512.739.2212.
We’re also on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1CUtnX448c/?mibextid=wwXIfr
Thanks so much!
¡Viva Terlingua! ¡Viva eYeBall!
(Some of the items already donated are a generator, several Airbnb stays, accommodations at two area hotels, art from 2 local artists, gift certificates to several area restaurants and more)

WILDLIFE PROJECT WILL TEMPORARILY CLOSE REMOTE SECTIONS OF BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK
Control of non-native aoudads to begin Oct 3. In early Oct, Big Bend National Park will implement targeted management actions to protect native desert bighorn sheep by reducing the population of non-native Barbary sheep (aoudad) within the park. This is a continuation of the park’s annual aoudad management in collaboration with the Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPWD).
Starting Oct 3, the Mesa de Anguila will be closed while TPWD staff, in coordination with the NPS, conduct aerial operations to remove aoudad. Areas will be closed the evening before the survey and closure areas will reopen once the surveys are completed, so please follow posted closure signs for trailheads and roads. The Rio Grande and Santa Elena Canyon Trail will remain open.
Additionally, the Deadhorse Mountains and surrounding areas, including Dagger Flat Road and Old Ore Road, will be temporarily closed Oct 4 – 5. Similar temporary closures will be in place the evening prior, so please follow posted closure signs for trailheads and roads. The Rio Grande and Boquillas Canyon trail will remain open. Closures typically only last one full day per survey area, but closures may last longer due to weather or mechanical delays. Please see the attached map for detailed closures and access information.
Barbary sheep are native to the dry mountains of Northern Africa but now thrive within the rugged landscape of West Texas. Over the last 30 years, Barbary sheep have established a foothold within the park and their population has increased significantly in recent years, with hundreds now roaming the area. Barbary sheep occupy the same habitats as the park's small population of native desert bighorn sheep and negatively impact the natural ecology of the park. Large groups of aoudads outcompete bighorn sheep for food and water, threaten biodiversity, and impair park visitors’ ability to experience natural conditions and scenery.
This effort is part of Big Bend’s long-term strategy to manage invasive species and protect native wildlife, as outlined in the Exotic Animal Management Plan and Environmental Assessment finalized in June 2018.
