COMMUNITY GARDEN
Come see us at the Saturday Community Market from 10:00-1:00.  Located at the Community Garden in the Ghost Town, we're there every Saturday with happy vendors offering an array of locally produced goods and other items.

Local art, a beekeeper's lovely honey and wax, handcrafted textile goods, goat milk soap, all natural lip balms, hand balms, essential oil perfumes and sugar scrubs, Zoey's leather goods, handcrafted, creative jewelry, including Kim's, many made with local stones, block printed textiles and vintage goods, both curated and upcycled, practical and artistic items made of reclaimed steel and more -- you never know just what or who you'll find here. Indeed, lately, chess players have been meeting up for a game or two or three or....Sandy's got her super cute pop-up shop here and Valerie is taking a week off from the pastry cart, b ut will be here the following week (Dec. 30) with her fine selection of culinary treats.

We welcome new vendors. Come set up down here in the shade to sell your wares. Flea market items are welcome. After all, reusing and up-cycling already existing items is smart and green. We ask a $10 donation to the Community Garden to set up, helping us to continue to improve this space and experience for all of us. For more information, text or call 432.213.1863, email SherriTheWriter@aol.com or pop in to the market for a chat. Prepared food vendors must display current food handling licence. (A quick, easy and affordable online course can provide that).

Please help keep our market space safe and comfortable for all, two-legged and four, by keeping all dogs leashed and under control. We look forward to seeing you there.

You also can submit pictures of your work and display a link to your website on the BBAC website, bigbendartscouncil.org.

Speaking of the Bank Show at West Texas National Bank:
It’s time to plan for 2024!  If you are interested in signing up for a one month art show at WTNB just send a text to 432-294-1538 to reserve your preferred month. It’s a great way to get your work out there and very simple to do, just take your 2-D art in and set them on the easels. The bank even supplies the easels!

If you are interested in curating a show or learning how to curate a show, please sign up for any of the 2024 shows as an assistant or co-curator.  Carol Fairlie is our coordinator of all of the BBAC shows and can assist you in choosing a show and sharing information about the process of being a curator. Each show will have a separate individual to put inventory into the show and create the wall tags.  Our next show is Way Out West and is a general western themed show.
Show dates are January 11 through February 27th.  Entries are due by Tuesday, January 9th.

ALPINE HUMANE SOCIETY NEEDS DONATIONS
The Alpine Humane Society was recently contacted to see when the next spay/neuter clinic might be.  They are in deep (the 5-digit range) for the clinics they’ve already done this year.  They have to pay the vets, lodge and feed them to make it happen.  For whatever reason, expenses have skyrocketed & their donations are down 45 percent.  This is a wonderful local organization & they do a lot for the whole county.  Can we make it up before Christmas?  Send them a few bucks if you can.  If your critter goes missing, it’s most likely them you’ll be calling eventually. Contact: Alpine Humane Society (432) 837-2532, sn@alpinehumanesociety.org, PO Box 1464, Alpine, TX 79831.  Physical address: 600 N. 5th, Corner of 5th & A.
