We are looking to create a venue filled with art, crafts, inspiration, fun, and camaraderie here in the Terlingua Area.

Come see us at the Saturday Community Market from 10:00-1:00.  Located at the Community Garden in the Ghost Town, we're there every Saturday with happy vendors offering an array of locally produced goods and other items.

Local art, handcrafted textiles, goat milk soap, all natural lip balms, hand balms, essential oil perfumes and sugar scrubs, leather goods, handcrafted, creative jewelry, block printed textiles and vintage goods, both curated and upcycled, practical and artistic items made of reclaimed steel and more -- you never know just what or who you'll find here. Indeed, lately, chess players have been meeting up for a game or two or three or....Sandy's got her super cute pop-up shop here and Valerie is here with her fine selection of culinary treats.

We welcome new vendors. Come set up down here in the shade to sell your wares. Flea market items are welcome. After all, reusing and up-cycling already existing items is smart and green. We ask a $10 donation to the Community Garden to set up, helping us to continue to improve this space and experience for all of us. For more information, text or call 432.213.1863, email SherriTheWriter@aol.com or pop in to the market for a chat. Prepared food vendors must display current food handling licence. (A quick, easy and affordable online course can provide that).

Please help keep our market space safe and comfortable for all, two-legged and four, by keeping all dogs leashed and under control. We look forward to seeing you there.

The Milky Way Treats bakery cart will be open this Saturday, 10 AM till noon. We’re set up next to the Community Garden in the Ghost Town. We have a delicious assortment of baked goodies, kolaches, cinnamon rolls, pie, and much more! The Milky Way Treats, ice cream trailer will be open, this week, Saturday through Monday, 4 PM to 9 PM. Gracias, Terlingua!

Terlingua Taizé (pronounced: tay-zay) singers meet on Thursdays from 4:30 - 6:00 at the St. Inez Church in the Ghostown led by June Rapp.   Singers of all abilities are welcome to join.  We sing songs acapella from many world cultures in several different languages, sacred in nature, but with no religious affiliation.

Taize is a form of music known for its simple, yet rich and meditative character.  It is meant to serve as a kind of musical centering prayer or meditation.  St. Inez church offers a deeply resonant space for this experience.     For more information contact  juneprapp@gmail.com

Hello fellow Terlinguans and animal lovers! I (CR Farmer) am doing a fundraiser for The Underground Dog - our local dog rescue. Most of you know that out here in the tiny, unincorporated town of Terlingua, Texas, we have very little resources regarding animal care and welfare, not just here in Terlingua, but in far too many of the rural, west Texas towns nearby as well. Unfortunately one or two of the 'nearby' shelters have recently closed, placing an increased burden on the few that are left. The Underground Dog has been humbly and heroically rescuing as many strays as possible, not just here in Terlingua, but from a staggeringly large swath of the West Texas frontier. The tenacity and determination of this organization is legendary and my hope is that I can help them raise enough money to ease some of their financial burdens so they can keep fighting the good fight.

So if it moves you, please consider donating to help this small, rural organization keep rescuing all the lost souls/sweet angels in need. One hundred percent of your donation goes straight to TUD. Please share this link with friends to help further support The Underground Dog and, as always: ¡Viva Terlingua!

Food Pantry of Jeff Davis County

November 22 at 12:09 PM  ·

Many people are asking what they should donate to the food pantry. WE NEED PASTA - regular pasta, any shape, not whole wheat! We have not been able to get regular pasta from the food bank, and it is too expensive to purchase wholesale in the quantity we need. As of today, there are 242 households (made up of 548 individuals) enrolled at our food pantry. Our goal is to collect 500 pounds of pasta before the end of the year so we can provide each household with two pounds of pasta. You can drop off your donation at the Food Pantry (609 Compromise Street) or put it in the donation barrel inside the Jeff Davis County Library. Thank you for helping us feed our neighbors in need!

Yes, it’s Thanksgiving, and Holiday Season, and we’re all thankful for the Jeff Davis County Democrats!

Help us celebrate what we’ve accomplished this year and discuss plans for 2024.

Our Potluck Holiday Social is December 8, 3-6 pm, at the home of our own Dedie Taylor, 308 N Buckeye, in Fort Davis.
