SEPTEMBER FULL MOON POTLUCK

BIG BEND CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The Annual Membership meeting of the Big Bend Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 8, beginning at 6pm. It will be held in person at the Red Pattillo Community Center at 100 Hwy 118. All Chamber members and interested parties are welcome to attend.  Refreshments (while they last) from the Bad Rabbit Café will be provided. Attendance via Zoom may or may not be available due to technical issues. If you would like to attend via Zoom please contact Sandy at chamberofcommercebigbend@gmail.com to see if available.

 

TERLINGUA RANCH OWNERS’ POTLUCK 

Please join your friends and neighbors at the next monthly Property Owners’ Potluck at the Bunkhouse on Thursday, Sept.1 at 6pm. Please bring a covered dish to share. The Ranch will provide water, ice tea, cutlery, and plates.


LANDSCAPE! 

BBAC new show, LANDSCAPE!, featuring views of the Big Bend and beyond by local artists is now on display through Sept. 13.  Over a dozen local artists show their view of our countryside in pottery, jewelry and paintings. CatchLight Art Gallery is also showing Vistas of the Big Bend. They are located next door at 117 W. Holland Ave.

COMMUNITY GARDEN UPDATE

Anyone need fill dirt for your septic system?  The Community Garden had a huge delivery from the tomato greenhouses in Ft Davis. It is mostly coconut coir which is perfect to mix in when installing native plants because it helps with moisture retention. The coir is in and outside of plastic bags, and needs some sorting through because of trash. Take ALL you can use! And please tell a friend!


EARTH & FIRE GALLERY RECEPTION

Earth & Fire Gallery in the Ghost Town will be hosting the art reception of Molly Dumas this Saturday, Sept. 3. Fun starts around 6pm and continues till around 9. Come enjoy the whimsy, snacks, drinks and get your Christmas shopping started! Lots of fun for everyone!

TERLINGUA MUSIC BASH

Make your plans now for the Terlingua Music Bash aka Barlow Fest! From October 13th-17th. 16 live music performances from the High Sierra, Starlight Theatre, Long Draw Pizza and DB's Rustic Iron BBQ. After party picker circles every night. A Sunday gospel brunch and to close it all out, Monday night it's a tradition, half price burger night at the Starlight Theatre with Wayward Gypsies. The Terlingua Bottoms Group of AA meets every Thursday at 7:30 at the Big Bend Church in Study Butte.  The meetings are open to anyone who has or thinks they may have a drinking problem.

Thank you all for your great recommendations and special requests the past few weeks! We are working on getting all the goodies you've been asking for. We are also getting close to being able to supply the local bars and restaurants with liquor again. Thank you for your continued patience during this transition! In addition to liquor, if we have supplied ice to you in the past, please call Jolea at the store or stop by to introduce yourself so we can chat about ice deliveries and pricing.
