"Behind every argument is someone’s ignorance. "

The South County Music Corral invites you to join us as we launch a new venue for musicians, near and far. We are located at 1001 Terlingua Ranch Road (1 mi. marker).  This is a spacious, acoustically-awesome, Quonset hut, (formerly Susi’s Snak Shack.) This venue will give musicians who live further north a place to entertain us in their neighborhood. Future plans include inviting bands and musicians from elsewhere to perform as well. SAT. , MAY 2nd, 6 p.m.  We’ll have brisket, chicken, sausage on the grill, chopped BBQ on a bun and various sides for $10/plate. SUN. MORNIG,MAY 3rd, 9 a.m., Granados’ Menudo will be served with a complimentary Bloody Mary. 100 % of the proceeds from this benefit will go toward the hook-up, connection fees and deposits required by Rio Grande Electric.  Any amounts exceeding the hook-up will be deposited to RGE as a credit account toward, hopefully, the first several of months’ electric bills.  BYOB, BYO-CHAIR, BYO-BEDROLL (just in case) and you might bring a lantern or two.

Starting at 11 AM on Saturday, May 9th. Save the Date for our third annual Voices From Both Sides.  Party in the River near Lajitas with friends old and new from both sides of the Rio.  Music, food and always surprises. Read lots more here:

Come to the Alpine Animal Shelter (AAS) and meet SOPHIE, perhaps the sweetest, softest and gentlest gal there. SOPHIE is a mostly white 3-year-old lab/heeler mix with floppy ears and soulful brown eyes. She is very intimidated at the shelter and wants nothing more than a leisurely life in a real home with lots of love. SOPHIE is good with other dogs. She loves to take walks and is happy to keep it mellow. AAS is open M-F from 10am to 6pm (closed 1-2pm), located on the east side of Alpine on Old Marathon Road. See SOPHIE (and all the dogs at AAS) at Petfinder:  https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/31701709

Micro-Plex (here), the Greater Big Bend and the Frontera.  Better yet, buy your copy where sold.

HOW DOES THIS MOON THING WORK?
Your Terlingua Moon is brought to you each week by your dedicated friends and neighbors. Their time, paper, ink and gasoline are all, entirely, volunteered. We try to enter your news items in the order they are received, but that isn’t always possible due to space availability.
When the Moon is full (this one; not the one at night), we sometimes give *locals first-page space.  *(within the micro-plex of Terlingua Ranch, Study Butte, Terlingua and Lajitas)
Sometimes, we front page, time-sensitive items, or those of extreme importance.  We try not to play favorites. And, we may condense your message.  We do not censor the basic content of your item, unless it is angry, crazy, vulgar, political, or downright outrageous.
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP
Submit items in crisp, simple font so we don’t have to change it.  Example: THIS Moon is written in Verdana, size 9.  HUGE, FANCY fonts will get you no special treatment.  Single-space all your text.  1.5 and greater gives us problems in trying to reduce them.  Re-read your submission several times.  Eliminated redundancies, over and over again. Use common abbreviations when possible, such as months and days.
Get your ad into the Moon email address by 12:00 noon on any Monday to appear in the finished, distributed Moon the following Tuesday. Terlinguamoon@gmail.com

If you want to receive the electronic version, send your request to Terlinguamoon@gmail.com  SUBJECT: Add me to mailing list.  Please send your electronic Moon to your email list.  Use BCC (blind copy) to protect the confidentiality of others’ email info.  (Send the first one to yourself; blind copy all the rest.)
If your ad missed the Moon, send us an email, SUBJECT: Where is my ad?  Some ads disappeared a few issues back. If you use the BBT version of email, that might be the reason why.
