Covid Booster and 1st Time Shots Dec. 9th - Pass the Word!  A great crew from the National Guard that reached out to our community will return again Dec. 9.  They will provide 1st time shots as well as Booster shots for Pfizer and Moderna.

The Upward Bound program at Sul Ross is sponsoring a Texas Success Initiative Assessment Boot Camp for students in the 11th and 12 grade who are preparing for the TSIA college readiness exam this week. 

Congratulations to the Robotics team, they traveled on Dec 3rd to El Paso to compete in another UTEP robotics competition. They placed 9th out of 13 teams and made several improvements to their robot. 

Santa Inez-Terlingua Ghostown Church

Join us in celebrating Our Lady of Guadalupe Day, this Sunday, December 12th at 5pm. Folklorico Dancers will perform on the Porch, followed by a short procession up to the church, and concluding with a short service. All are welcome.

The Big Bend Citizens Alliance will hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, December 15 at the Red Pattillo Community Center (meet & greet at 6PM, business at 6:30PM). The Alliance is a 501(c)3 public charity supporting the Terlingua Community Garden, Canyon View Community Park, Terlingua Recycles, Voices from Both Sides, Terlingua Visual Arts, Terlingua Dark Sky Alliance, & Terlingua Cares. All are welcome to attend this public meeting. Included on the agenda will be discussion & action to change the Bylaws such that our financial structure better conforms to our bank's requirements. THE 54TH ANNUAL ORIGINAL TERLINGUA INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP CHILI COOKOFF, 
held November 6, 2021, raised $30,000.00 for research to cure the disease, ALS. We also raised $3000.00 for Terlingua Schools, and $2,000.00 for the local EMS. Many thanks to all of you who played a part. That would include everybody who attended, plus more who were unable to attend but contributed from afar, including, but not limited to: Chili cooks and all competitors in every category, spectators, organizers and directors, sponsors, volunteers, and all the teams/groups who pulled together to get the job done. Thank you all, let's make next year even better!
