Terlingua Moon
Volume 35, No. 42
October 15, 2024 by FreeBird

“We lead the world because, unique among nations, we draw our people—our strength—from every country and every corner of the world.  And by doing so we continuously renew and enrich our nation.” – Ronald Reagan

THANK YOU SHELBY DRIVERS!  Saturday, October 12th ‑‑ TFEMS personnel assisted Terlingua CSD students with their annual car wash at the Shelby Time Trials at Lajita’s International Airport as well as provided EMS and Fire standby support for the races.  We are thankful to the association for inviting our department, the airport for their gracious hospitality, and all the community members and Shelby drivers for supporting Terlingua Students.

Stay safe and “¡Viva Paisanos!”

Captain J. Thomason, AEMT

HOWDY DESERT FAMILY! ‑‑ As some of you may know, I had a really bad vocal cord issue this summer and was forced to cancel all my shows.  Music is my full-time job, and being out of work for 3 months has caused me to slip into a deep financial hole.  My brother from another mother, Mike Minnick has so kindly offered to host me at his place, The Temple of The Bird, for a relief concert in efforts to help me raise funds and pull myself out of debt.  I'd really appreciate any support y'all are able to give!

My voice has finally been coming back, and although still not at 100%, I will be giving it my best and am really looking forward to singing for y'all!  I will be doing an intimate set of original music and storytelling.  This will be a special show, as I will be filling my set with some new tunes and unreleased material that no one has heard before.  These songs are some of my favorites I've written.  They are much more vulnerable and deep, and I choose not to play them in loud bars.  I'll be sharing stories behind each song and debuting them for the first time LIVE for one night only!  You likely won't hear me play these songs at a local bar, so come on out and experience something special! – Alex Teller
