APRIL 5 – 12 IS INTERNATIONAL DARK SKY WEEK!
We are encouraging everyone to #DiscovertheNight by stepping outside and experiencing the night where you live. Go on a night walk, listen for nocturnal animals, or simply look up at the sky. Then come back here and tell us what you saw, heard, or felt.
At Big Bend we celebrate and protect dark night skies for ourselves, for our incredible wildlife, and for our millennia of shared human heritage. As an International Dark Sky Park, we have a responsibility to keep all lighting fixtures dark sky friendly and to spread awareness about light pollution. Eliminating light pollution doesn’t mean turning off all the lights all the time, it just means using lighting more efficiently. By doing so, we give desert animals (including humans!) that rely on circadian rhythms a more natural life, and we give ourselves the chance to see skies similar to what people in the Big Bend region gazed up at 10,000 years ago.

NITA BRASHEAR
is having her final closing out sale from 9:30-2:30 Saturday, April 10 at the former Study Butte RV Laundromat. Twin maple beds, maple hutch, mattress, box springs, end tables, and lots of other stuff to numerous to mention. Come on by and find a new-to-you treasure!

THE TERLINGUA BOTTOMS GROUP OF AA
meets every Thursday at 7:30 at the Big Bend Church in Study Butte. We wear masks during the meeting, and observe distancing.  The meetings are open to anyone who has or thinks they may have a drinking problem. If you are ill, we respectfully ask that you stay home and call for a "telephone meeting" instead, 371-2073. Leave a message and we'll get back to you.

DB’s BBQ
FYI- We will be closed for a while to cater some private events this month and also concentrate on getting the new building up and running. Thanks for your patronage and see y’all soon.-DB

SHOT TIME LIQUORS
Is Open Monday thru Saturday 10 to 9. We have restocked our Igloo Recool Coolers. These are made from 100% recycled molded paper pulp - sort of like a paper maché project from Middle School. At 16 quarts, these coolers will hold enough beer, seltzers, and Topo Chico’s for a fun day on the river or at the Hot Springs without letting you run dry. And at the end of the day, dump out the leftover ice and water and dry that thing out. Once dry, it is ready to play again! And an extra perk - none of that annoying styrofoam squeak! So for all of you “Styro-phobic” Terlinguanas and savy tourists - at $12.50 each, these won’t last long. Grab one for you eco-friendly summer fun. And, of course, we have everything that y’all need to put in your new nifty cooler!
