FRIENDS OF RUIDOSA CHURCH ‑‑ We’re excited to announce two more adobe-making days coming up in Ruidosa and Marfa:
· Ruidosa: March 30, 10-4PM
· Marfa: April 27, 10-4PM
As we mentioned previously, this year our community adobe-making days are going to alternate between Marfa and Ruidosa to give more folks an opportunity to participate. The Ruidosa workshops take place at the church site. The Marfa adobe days are held at Joey Benton’s adobe yard at 800 Galveston. You can expect to learn about the adobe-making process and traditional earthen building methods with our team while working hard and getting dirty! All bricks made will be used in the next phase of restoration.
· All are welcome, including children. This event is free.
· Let us know you’re coming so we can get a rough headcount. Message us at ruidosachurch@gmail.com
· We will provide water and drinks and lunch for both events
· Please come prepared for the desert with long sleeved shirts, long pants, work boots, big hats and gloves.
· Come for part or all!

10:00-1:00. Located at the Community
Garden in the Ghost Town, we're there every Saturday with happy vendors
offering an array of locally produced goods and other items.
Fresh eggs, local art, handcrafted textile goods, goat milk
soap, all natural lip balms and skin care products, essential oil perfumes,
Zoey's leather goods, handcrafted, creative jewelry, including Kim's, many made
with local stones, block printed textiles and vintage goods, both curated and
up-cycled, practical and artistic items made of reclaimed steel, Sandy's super
cute pop-up shop and more -- you never know just what or who you'll find here. Indeed, lately, chess players have been
meeting up for a game or two or three or...
We welcome new vendors. Flea market items are also welcome. After all, reusing and up-cycling already
existing items is smart and green. We
ask a $10 donation to the Community Garden to set up, helping us to continue to
improve this space and experience for all of us. For more information, text or call
432.213.1863, email SherriTheWriter@aol.com
or pop in to the market for a chat. Prepared
food vendors must display current food handling license. (A quick, easy and affordable online course
can provide that).
