COVID AND FLU SHOTS
Terlingua CSD is hosting a free Flu & Covid vaccine clinic today (Wednesday) at 11:30 a.m. Stop by the Big Bend High School if you'd like to get vaccinated! Please call 432-371-2281 if you have any questions.

REMOTE EARLY VOTING
for the March 1 primary elections for Precincts 5, 6, and 7 will be next Tuesday and Wednesday, February 22-23, from 9:00 A.m. to 5:00 P.m., at the Red Pattillo Community Center in Study Butte.

Early voting for all precincts is also available at the Judge Val Clark Beard Office Complex in Alpine as follows:

NEED HELP TODAY (WED. FEB 16)
Much appreciation for anyone coming down to help unload the food commodities truck on Wednesday, February 16– with your help it can be done in a jiffy! Later there will be packing the boxes and Thursday, packing as well. Friday there will be food commodities distribution, from 10-4. For more information, 371-3147. Many thanks to the volunteers!

Stop by and see us soon.  We’re located in the Ghostown right between the Jail and y Poco Mas.  Great neighbors!  Our February Guest Artist is Jen Pena and we also feature local art by Debra Brown Guerrero, Enrique Salazar, Voni Glaves, Frona Fern Farrelly, Michele Billings, Larry Short and Marti Anderson, all centered by the fabulous ceramic art Linda imports from Mexico!

THE TERLINGUA COMMUNITY GARDEN
is still growing and experimenting at 15 years old!  Get involved!  Come by starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday Feb 26th (we'll be there all day). If you like, bring a dish to share for a potluck lunch. Byob + chair and a pair of work gloves. Gardeners will be there to answer your questions.  If we're having fun, we'll continue on Sunday.

Select garden plot/s for you and your family
Plant seeds in 5 new community food beds
Transplant donated plants and plum trees.
Help envision the future of our garden and plan the Earth Day Celebration
Dig trenches for water and power expansion project
General Cleanup and repairs
Set up new kitchen area
Repair and upgrade new storage room for garden tools and supplies
And most importantly, enjoy this beautiful community space.

This event is open to the public and all safety guidelines will be expected in our "Garden Oasis".

is seeking local instructors covering a wide range of the Movement Arts, in addition to more local Yoga Teachers who would enjoy getting back to work. From Mr. Anthenat: When you see the robotics students please congratulate them on winning the Connect Award. This award is for interacting and connecting with the teams at the FTC meets and for inviting the San Vicente students to a robotics demonstration next week. Because they won this award they will be advancing to the Lubbock Regionals on Feb. 19th. Go Team 11720-Purobots! Gimena, Zach E., Chase, Edwing, Melenie, Haziel, Ethan, Laila, and Romina.

OTRA VEZ THRIFT SHOP/SANTA INEZ GHOSTTOWN CHURCH
All are welcome to attend a Volunteer & Patron Appreciation Soup Supper on Thursday, February 17th from 5 p.m.-6 p.m. outside at the Otra Vez Thrift Shop. Come by for some soup and sweets in honor of those that put in their time, efforts, and donations to keep the shop going and those that buy from the store which allows for the $1,000s that have gone back into our community to help those in need. Bishop Michael Hunn of the Diocese of the Rio Grande, headquartered in Alb.,NM will also be in town for a visit. 1st Wednesday Rosary Prayer Services and 3rd Wednesday Eucharist Services will resume in March.

We wear masks during the meeting, and observe distancing.  The meetings are open to anyone who has or thinks they may have a drinking problem. TEXAS INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE
Wednesday, March 2, 2022 @ 5:30 P.m. Come celebrate the 186th anniversary of Texas Independence  from Mexico with the annual impromptu parade between the Porch and the High Sierra celebrating the sacrifices of those who won our freedom that has been so easily forgotten by native Texans and unknown by the naturalized and visitors. The parade is scheduled to begin around 5:30 P.m. (but is notoriously late) at the Porch.  The route will leave for the High Sierra, then turn around back to the Porch.  Gathering for the parade will be at any time necessary for the preparation of your "float" to make the 5:30 start.  Please try to attend with a float or just as a spectator.  Hope to see you there!

There will be a memorial barbecue and potluck gathering in honor of John Wayne Kelly on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the horseshoe pits in Terlingua Ghostown see Wayne’s obituary the celebration of future barbecue made by Scott and friends in his otherwise a potluck affair bring your lunch sharers music BYOB and stories to share with Wayne’s friends and family event to kick off between 1 and 2 P.m. for more information call 432-371-2234
