Alpine shelter dog Woofer is a 10 month old catahoula mix who has a real gentleness about him - not that he can't romp around in play - but he's tender towards the shelter puppies and it just seems like he has a little halo around his head. He's something special. Woofer is comfortable and respectful of kids, and brings a peaceful, laid-back energy to play group. His good looks don't hurt, but it's like he doesn't even know how stunning he is. I guess you could say he's Mr. Right. There is a shelter adoption event this Saturday, 9/22, from 11-2 at the True Value Garden Center in Alpine. All adoptions are $50! The Harvest Moon
Often, the September full Moon is called the Harvest Moon instead of the Full Corn Moon. Unlike other full Moon names, which are specific to their respective months, the Harvest Moon is tied to an astronomical event: the autumnal equinox. The full Moon that falls nearest to the equinox (September 22) takes on the name “Harvest Moon,” rather than its traditional name. This means that a Harvest Moon may occur in either September or October. The Harvest Moon provides the most light at the time when it’s needed most—to complete the harvest!
