Come see us at the Saturday Community Market
from 10:00-1:00. Located at the Community Garden
in the Ghost Town, we're here every Saturday with
happy vendors offering an array of locally produced
goods and other items.
Fresh eggs, local art, handcrafted textile goods, goat
milk soap, all natural lip balms and skin care
products, essential oil perfumes, leather goods,
handcrafted, creative jewelry, block printed textiles
and vintage goods, both curated and upcycled,
practical and artistic items made of reclaimed steel
and more -- you never know just what or who you'll
find here. Indeed, lately, chess players have been
meeting up for a game or two or three or...
We welcome new vendors. Flea market items are
also welcome. After all, reusing and up-cycling
already existing items is smart and green. We ask a
$10 donation to the Community Garden to set up,
helping us to continue to improve this space and
experience for all of us. For more information, text
or call 432.213.1863,
email SherriTheWriter@aol.com or pop in to the
market for a chat. Prepared food vendors must
display current food handling license. (A quick, easy
and affordable online course can provide that).
Please help keep our market space safe and
comfortable for all, two-legged and four, by keeping
all dogs leashed and under control. We look forward
to seeing you there.

ON THE ECOLOGICAL SIDE
If you'd like to see your property restored to its
natural ecological state, halt erosion, quadruple the
rate of native tree growth, increase the diversity of
native understory plants, support native wildlife and
migratory birds, and produce food, I can help. With
20 years of professional experience, a degree in
landscape architecture, and a certificate in
permaculture design, I specialize in restoring any
type of landscape to its natural ecological state of
abundance. Visit ecologiclandscape.com
for a FREE written strategy.
ON THE STUPID SIDE
The Olympics can outsource some events, for
example the surfing competition is held in Tahiti.
Outsourcing being possible, a group of Terlingua
boosters are lobbying the Olympic committee to
include Richard Sharp's annual Run for Stupidity, a
one-time classic Terlingua event, in the next games.
In the run, contestants assemble in Terlingua Ghost
Town in various states of sobriety, and, at the sound
of the gun, run off in different directions. Few ever
returned to the finish line and few winners have ever
been declared. It's questionable whether or not the
so-called "winners" actually ran the course. Instead
they just sat on "the porch" downing adult beverages,
then got up and walked across the finish line,
declaring themselves winners. Exciting event, which,
of course, would be held in Terlingua.
