From the Editor – on December 3, a recount of votes for the Precinct 2 County Commissioner position was completed.  It took 3 hours to count 1,161 votes and the results were an exact match.  This speaks to the accuracy of the Brewster County system of scanning all paper ballots and providing a voter-verified paper trail so that recounts and audits can be smoothly accomplished.  Sara Colando won the position by 13 votes.  Every vote matters!

From Sara Allen Colando“The election recount was completed today, and there are no changes to the election results as canvassed.  I'd like to thank my opponent Mr. Chiles for running an honorable and hardworking campaign.  And thank you to all my supporters!  I look forward to working hard for you, and everyone who calls Brewster County home.” ‑‑Sara Allen Colando
