Dove is a 7 year old female
Chihuahua mix who originally was
adopted from the old Alpine shelter but
whose elderly owner’s medical issues
have made it impossible for him to keep
her with him. Both Dove and her owner
are heartbroken at the situation and
hoping for a wonderful outcome from
an otherwise tragic circumstance. Dove
likes to play fetch with a ball and
though she doesn’t always give up the
ball, she loves to play. She’s good with
other dogs, is tentative but will warm up
to strangers, and only barks when
someone comes to the door. Dove is
accustomed to a lot of attention and
thrives in it. Having her ear rubbed and
her face washed with a warm cloth are
her favorite things. She is a sensitive
girl who doesn’t like even the
suggestion of disapproval - and as such
is almost always a good girl. Dove is a
wonderful companion looking for a
very special owner to treat her right.
Dove is spayed, microchipped, and up
to date on all shots. Her adoption fee is
$100. For more information email

NEW OWNERS OF RV PARK
I would like to add a short piece
introducing my husband and me to the
community. Thanks. Study Butte RV
Park has new owners. Although we are
new residents, we have owned
property and visited the area since
1999. We are in the process of packing
and selling our house in San Antonio.
Leon is a retired Union Electrician. I
am a Registered Nurse and will be
able to continue my job as an online
nursing instructor. We are really
looking forward to becoming part of
the Big Bend Community. We'd love to
meet everyone! Come by the RV park
Sun, 5/29,11-2. Roast a wienie and
meet us. Hot dogs and all the fixings.

This is Janelle Brady and I want
to share my son, Jeffrey's success
in completing his college degree.

Being born (the first child actually
born in the ghost town in 50
years) and raised in Terlingua, I
know that the entire community
had a role in his upbringing and
success, and thus I wanted to
share his most recent
accomplishment. Jeffrey received
his diploma after completing a
double major in the areas of
Mechanical Engineering and
Advanced Mathematics at UNM on
Saturday, May 15th, in
Albuquerque, New Mexico. Not
withstanding the intensity of his
chosen fields, he graduated 1 of 4
Summa Cum Laude. Jeffrey is
living in Albuquerque with his
wife, Michelle, and their two
children, Olivia (5) and Samuel (1
1/2). The whole family gathered
for the celebration and I
presented him with a photo album
of his Terlingua upbringing, with
many of the community events
which were such a part of our
lives. So many of you are in that
book and I want to extend my
gratitude and joy at having been a
part of such a special place with
all of you my friends! Please feel
free to contact me at
janbrady2@cheerful.com if you
would like me to relay any
messages to Jeffrey. Sincerely,
Janelle Brady
P.S. I love seeing the photos of
the continuing Folklorico in
Terlingua - Kudos!
