CELEBRATIONS OF LIFE

STEVE HARPER ‑‑ Friday, March 1st 5:00 - 8:00.  A US Forest Service retiree, Steve found Big Bend in the late 90s. Volunteering for a few seasons living in the park, he fell in love with Terlingua and the community.  He and Judy, his wife, found some land and quickly became part of the community.  He brought grandsons Jason and John (the twins) down to help him build the house and over the next 18 years he and Judy made it the sanctuary the family has come to love.  He loved this community.  He overcame a stroke in 2014 and continued to enjoy Terlingua until a fall in December 2019 made it impossible to live alone.  Steve moved in with his daughter Jill in 2021.  They returned together last winter/spring. Steve passed away last October after another stroke.

Please join our family and friends at Steve and Judy's Gate 6 home to celebrate his life in Big Bend. Bring your memories, stories and maybe a dish to share.  The family will scatter his ashes before the gathering, friends are welcome.
