Terlingua MOON

July 18, 2023

Vol.34  No. 29

“Don't rush through life.

Slow down. Breathe.

Enjoy all your moments. Don't look back at your past with regret, but with joy - It's what has made you who you are today.

If you don't like who you are and where you are,

it's only your choice to change it.

Take responsibility. Life is good.

It's your choice what you do with it." - Ursula Daiber

Espresso ... y poco mas

Terlingua's mainstay for breakfast and lunch. Menu items are cooked to order from the freshest ingredients along with the best coffee in town.  We use only Big Bend Roasters beans.  Pastries, newspapers, and super Chisos views. A great local place for food and conversation.  Call 432 371 3044 for to go orders.

Terlingua Crisis Center

Just got off the phone with the food bank.  The truck can not make it down until the 20th of July, so distribution will be on Friday July 21st.

Come see us at the Saturday Community Market from 10:00-1:00.  We're planning to run right on through the summer. Located at the Community Garden in the Ghost Town, we're there every Saturday with happy vendors offering an array of locally produced goods and other items.

We welcome new vendors. Come set up in the shade to sell your wares. Flea market items are welcome. After all, reusing and up-cycling already existing items is smart and green. We ask a $10 donation to the Community Garden to set up, helping us to continue to improve this space and experience for all of us. For more information, text or call 432.213.1863, email SherriTheWriter@aol.com or pop in to the market for a chat.

Fresh eggs, local art, handcrafted textiles, goat milk soap, all natural lip balms, hand balms and perfumes, leather goods, handcrafted, creative jewelry, block printed textiles and vintage goods, both curated and upcycled, and more -- you never know just what you'll find here.

Do you have mad skills and smart, practical talents you'd like to share? We all love to learn about sustainable arts and useful skills here in Terlingua. Let's talk about a workshop. Please help keep our market space safe and comfortable for all, two-legged and four, by keeping all dogs leashed and under control. We look forward to seeing you there.

Boil Water Rescind Notice

7-17-2023

On 6-27-23, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required our public water system Study Butte WSC, PWS ID 0220035 to issue a Boil Water Notice (BWN) to inform our customers that due to the presence of contaminants or an interruption in service, water from our system must be boiled prior to consumption.

Our system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling as of 7-17-2023.

If you have questions, contact Jorge Garcia at (432) 371-2913.

If a customer wishes to reach TCEQ, they may call 512-239-4691.
