📣Fuel Update! Fuel is now available at Panther Junction! Thank you for your patience while equipment fried during the last power outage was replaced.

At this time no fuel service is available at Rio Grande Village. The pumps are being worked on, but due to the age of the machines, an estimated time of repair is not known.

Come see us at the Saturday Community Market, open from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Located at the Community Garden in the Ghost Town, we're here every Saturday with happy vendors offering an array of locally produced goods and other items. You'll also be able to enjoy our fabulous local mobile library and portable free ‘porch’, even consult with Dr. Gigabyte if you have a computer problem.

Local art, handcrafted textile goods, fresh eggs, sourdough bread, all natural lip balms and skin care products, all natural essential oil fragrances, beard oil and massage oils, handcrafted, creative jewelry, resin creations, block printed textiles and vintage goods, both curated and upcycled, practical and artistic items made of reclaimed steel and more -- you never know just what or who you'll find here.

We welcome new vendors. Flea market items are also welcome. After all, reusing and up-cycling already existing items is smart and green. We ask a $10 donation to the Community Garden to set up, helping us to continue to improve this space and experience for all of us.

We'll be here all summer, in the shade. This year, we're celebrating the summer season by waiving the set up donation on the last Saturday of each of our summer months. It's a great way for a creator or new vendor to try out our market. We typically have a table and chair or two to loan to new vendors.

For more information, text or call 432.213.1863, email SherriTheWriter@aol.com or pop in to the market for a chat. Prepared food vendors must display current food handling licence. (A quick, easy and affordable online course can provide that).

Please help keep our market space safe and comfortable for all, two-legged and four, by keeping all dogs leashed and under control. We look forward to seeing you there.

Help Our Local Friends and Neighbors

Lorena Palma is organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Vanessa D Hernandez PalmaDear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,  On Monday, July 20th, the Villa Hernandez family's life changed forever when a powerful storm swept through the small town of Terlingua. In just moments, the Villa Hernandez home was reduced to rubble. Thankfully, everyone made it out safely, but they lost everything.

The Villa Hernandez family—Rudy, Vanessa, and their two children, Rodolfo (13) and Estefania (8)—are now faced with the unimaginable task of starting over with nothing. Their home and all their belongings were destroyed. They are currently staying with relatives while trying to process the emotional and financial weight of this tragedy.

We're asking for your support to help this loving family begin again. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference. Together, we can help this family rebuild not just their house, but their hope and sense of home. Let's show them that even in the darkest moments, they are not alone.  Thank you for your generosity, love, and support! God bless you!

Brewster County Special Commissioners Court Meeting July 29, 2025

An update

https://gofund.me/0efb7500

So we’ve got Alex’s van getting restored in Ojinaga right now. We had trouble finding one configured the way he liked. He said he bought this one years ago because it was perfect for him. With a side entry lift, hand controls, swivel captain’s chairs for access and a bench seat that converts to a bed. It is a Ford Econoline with plenty of clearance for the roads out here. My brother Daniel had the engine replaced a few years ago so the motor has less than 15k miles. We decided this was our best bet. I ordered a new hydraulic lift for it. Air conditioner is being restored as we speak. It will be reupholstered, starter has been rebuilt, new tires and brakes. Suspension will be gone over with new tie rods, shocks etc… if we have enough left over we’ll give it a new paint job. Should be ready in 2 or 3 weeks.

We’ve also just ordered his new all terrain electric chair which will make life easier for him while he recovers from his surgery. Surgery is scheduled for August. Thank you so much to all of you who are making this possible.  Photos to come.     -Marcos Paredes
