STUDY BUTTE SUBSTATION?
“Larry Powell, director of engineering for Rio Grande Electric Cooperative of Brackettville, told the semi-annual South County meeting of the commissioners that all power now
comes from a single line from Persimmon Gap on U.S. Highway 385 in Big Bend National Park, extending to Lajitas. By putting a substation in South County, the co-op could increase
capacity of the system for future expansion and provide more reliable electric service by putting the station closer to its customers. Powell said that the co-op is looking at land at the corner of Bee Road and Terlingua Spring Road. The substation could boost the power on the far end of
the 163-mile power line”  according to this article.

Goodbye sweet Marie.
"In marriage, Marie found happiness winning the heart of Texas singer/songwriter/actor/folklorist Allen Wayne Damron. When she was not busy being a writer and Allen's business
manager, she worked in a local "ghosttown" resort as the hotel operator, concierge, and town air traffic controller. Marie was the one to call at any time of the day or night when stray cows wandered onto the runway, preventing planes from taking off or landing. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/newsobserver/obituary.aspx?page=lifestorypid=178626403#sthash.jR8F5mYW.dpuf

THE PLAY THAT IS LIFE - Hey folks, Chris Lee here!
Wanted to first thank everyone who supports communityvtheatre, whether it is participating in, helping build, continually funding, or coming to the shows and enjoying an evening or two. Our last one, Reefer Madness, seems like it was a hit - thanks to you! As an actor in that play, I learned something that truly touched my heart this time around and wanted to share. This Community theatre has brought a lot of joy and laughs to us, and I for one hope to keep it alive as those who have before us (and still are). I realize that the only way to keep it alive is to start
infusing new blood in every area of it. So we are setting the stage and putting the intention out there to anyone who wishes to step on board with some of the old who can help and teach the new. And KEEP community theatre alive in Terlingua and South Brewster county!
You can contact me at gypsthreethousand@gmail.com. or find one of the theatre folks. Thanks and may we all continue to create and be blessed in the play that is life.

Bambie is a sweetheart who prefers the company of humans to other dogs. She may happily cohabitate with another calm pup, but her joy in life is her human. Bambie is identified as a heeler mix and that is absolutely a heeler quality. Her personality also reveals great intelligence and a capability to be independent. Bambie is 3 years old and weighs 55 pounds. She requires only moderate activity but a lot of human love and affection. Bambie is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all shots. The Alpine Animal Shelter is open M-F from 10am to 6pm (closed 1-2pm) and by appointment on the weekends, located on the east side of Alpine on Old Marathon Road. AAS animals are online at https://www.petfinder.com/pet-search?shelter_id=TX1202 For more info email heatherthemule@gmail.com
