The Big Bend Relay For Life committee is searching for cancer survivors to honor at the annual event. To register by phone, call 1-877-957-7848. To have a form mailed to you, call Lynda at 432-386-3794 or email lyndaveik@hotmail.com. Even if you have participated in the past, we need you to contact us to keep you on our survivor list. The Big Bend Relay For Life is at 6 p.m. April 15 at the Sul Ross Track Field. At Relay For Life events, communities across the globe come together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much.

You'll have another chance this coming weekend when REEFER MADNESS, by Joe Landry - Playscripts, Inc., is presented at the Cinnabar Theater.  Show times are Friday & Saturday, March 4 & 5 - 8:00 pm and the closing Sunday Matinee, March 6 - 2:00 pm.  Tickets are $10.00 Mark your calendars to see this spoof on the cult film of the same name - everyone's doing it!

​OTRA VEZ:  Please, please, please... we are not your favorite dumpster substitute!  We prize donations of usable and  clean clothing and household appliances.  Our volunteers are getting  on in years we are unable to cart off leftovers from flea markets or house removals.
We will be open the following Saturdays: March 3 and 26.  We will be closed March 12 through 23 and will not be working during those 2 weeks.  Please do NOT leave any donations during that time.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Big Bend Regional History Fair/On to State-
Big Bend High School students dominated at Big Bend Regional History Fair at Sul Ross. The whole team is heading to the State History Fair in Austin in April. Please congratulate  Taylor Luttrell-Williams (1st place, interpretive paper); Eduardo Gonzalez (2nd place, website); Niki Dahl & Chad Ritcheson (1st place, Group Documentary); Cody Willard, Don Trussell, & Kaeli Wylie (1st place, group exhibit and Best in Show). Thank you, Coach Betina Kearns!

Congratulations to San Vicente School junior high Regional History Fair students Juliette French (2nd place, website) and Caelan Devine Ryan (2nd place, exhibit). They will compete in the State History Fair in April. Thank you, Coach Nola Lafayette!

Please join us for the celebration of Texas Independence Day on Wednesday, March 2, 2016. We will have a parade starting at the porch parking lot, going down to High Sierra and ending at the porch parking lot.  Line up is at 4:00 and parade will proceed about 4.30.

The Terlingua Bottoms Group of AA meets every Thursday at 7:30 at the Big Bend Church in Study Butte.  The meetings are open to anyone who has or thinks they may have a drinking problem.

Sam-U-L is back in town!
The Earth and Fire Art Gallery is having not one but two artist receptions this week.  The first is on the first, as we open Sam’s Spring show on Tuesday.  Wine and snacks at 4 pm.  Then on Saturday, The Gallery is hosting their First Saturday Art Market and another reception to welcome new partners, Michelle Billings and Kathy Gilles, as well as kicking off our Spring Break run.  For this event, we are having fun all day and continuing well into the night with a campfire, music, even more wine and chances of s’mores.  Please bring your art and treasures to sell at The Art Market and then join us later for the reception and campfire!

The Boat will be rocking all week long, Spring is upon us and the view from the back deck is wonderful. Try our signature Habenero Margarita while enjoying  the sunset.

WYATT is a loving bundle of dog fun with searching, friendly eyes.  This 45-lb black lab mix is sleek, short haired and athletic. He's gentle and playful with people, would love a running/hiking/fetch-throwing partner and has never met a dog he didn’t like.  WYATT doesn't bark in his kennel but once you open the door he becomes very excited! WYATT was rescued from Highway 118 and is a good-natured dog who is ready for a great, safe home.  His $100 adoption fee includes sterilization, microchipping and all shots and vaccines.
