Slim Fest oNe - Thank You!!
Thank you to everyone who came to Slim Fest oNe this past weekend to honor the late, great Slim Richey and to kick up their heels while doing so. We'd especially like to thank the incredible musicians who not only came from many distant places to perform at the festival but many of whom had to leave soon after their sets to get back on tour or travel to their next gig. We would especially like to thank those who supported the festival in one way or another, most of all the festival attendees and Underwriters. Folks came from as far away as New York, California and Indiana to honor Slim and hear some of their favorite musicians. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the Terlingua-area volunteers who helped make this a success - Betsy Blades, Virginia Brotherton, Resa Callahan, Shannon Carter, Summer Leigh, Tommye Linan, Glenda Luttrell, Bryn Moore, Mary Paloma Diesel, and Dori Ramsay. And, last but not least, to The Boathouse for offering their venue exclusively to Slim Fest oNe. For those interested in T-Shirts, we sold out of all but 2XL and 3XL - what were we thinking getting those sizes for SLIM Fest? If you didn't get one and are still interested, you can go to FarOutBooking.com to order one. ALL proceeds from the festival and T-Shirt sales go to the musicians and sound crew. These amazing artists work hard to bring their talents to the world and, in this case, our little corner of it. Please continue to support independent and local musicians - what would the planet be without music?
