Terlingua Feast is a social dining experiment that unites strangers and friends of our community around a common table to share a unique night of cuisine crafted by an undiscovered (or established) chef from the region. Through random seating at the dinner table, it is our hope that you will share, listen and take away from this night a greater appreciation of what makes our community so special: the people. The Feast will be held every 1-3 months in a unique and different place - sometimes inside, most of the time outside. We will never use the same place twice. The initial Feast will be limited to 30-50 people (price yet to be determined). All monies will go to cover costs associated with the event. To get updates check us out atfacebook.com/terlinguafeast -- Terlingua Feast is organized by Teren and Jeff.

What do lost car keys, a red evening dress, and an unusual dessert have in common?  Plan to attend the comedy FlambĂ©, Last Minute Low Budget Productions’ first show of the fall and find out.  The play, by Big Bend playwright Zena Zeller, premieres on Thursday, November 13, at 8 p.m. at the Cinnabar Theater off Hwy. 118. A gala party celebrating the show takes place Friday, November 14, at 7 p.m. before the curtain goes up (figuratively speaking) at 8.   One matinee will be staged on Saturday, November 15, at 2 p.m.Additional evening performances will be Friday and Saturday, November 21 and 22 at 8 p.m.  Tickets for all performances are $10.FlambĂ© stars Martha Stafford as Vivian and Deena Nolan as Alberta, who writes books and is full of—helpful ideas.  Catfish Callaway directs.Last Minute Low Budget Productions is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) community theater group that began putting on plays in the Terlingua area in 1989 and averages three to four events per year.  The all-volunteer cast and crew hail from the area and LMLB is delighted to welcome many first-time performers to this show.

Hello all my friends.

I hope we can put our brave and lovely little choir together and shout out our joyous voices for the coming Christmas season. I am very much encouraged by last year's participation, where we decided to simply ring out the melodies of our favorite songs and not work on or worry about the other three voices bass, tenor, alto.
I have taken the liberty to BCC several friends on my contact list just to let them know about this little piece of Terlingua history that happens every year. All are invited. In sixteen years, we have mustered between 9 and 25 people each year for this conspiracy.
We usually sing out at the Warnock Christmas celebration, the Terlingua Community center (with the School band closing the show), and the Starlight Theater's Christmas show. This is all between the 8th and 19th of December. We always have a standing invitation to attend the Christmas Eve service at Lajitas Chapel and sing out from the audience. Joanne and I always do.
I play guitar and Lou plays keyboard. We pick a key that works. We rehearse a little to get the energy up. We go and smile and sing, everyone thanks us, the Starlight even discounts a menu for us.
Sheesh, could it get any better? :)
Rehearsals are Tuesday 5:30 to 7 PM, [11/11, 11/18, 11/25, 12/2, maybe 12/9]
