Health protocols for voting in person are practice social distancing.  Face coverings are strongly recommended but not required in the polling place.  Please wash or sanitize your hands upon entering the polling place, after interacting with other individuals at the polling place, after using voting system equipment or marking a ballot, and upon exiting the polling place.  If you have signs or symptoms of COVID-19, please consider Curbside Voting that will be available at each voting location.

You still have time to request an application for an absentee or mail-in ballot.   To qualify, you must be 65 or older, have a permanent disability, or be absent from the county during the entire early voting schedule and on election day.  The deadline to request an application is October 23.  If you want to request an absentee ballot or have any other questions concerning the election, please contact:  Lora Nussbaum, Elections Administrator, Brewster County, 107 W. Ave. E, #3, Alpine, TX  79830   PHONE NUMBER: 432-837-6230

Because of changes made by the Texas legislature in 2019, straight-party voting is no longer an option.  Local candidates are listed near the end of the ballot, so please, vote for your candidates all the way down the ballot, front and back.  Also because of changes made in 2019, early remote voting has been severely limited.  That's why early voting in Alpine is currently the only option.  These are the kind of laws that affect us personally.  So please, make your voice heard and VOTE!!

REMOTE EARLY VOTING IN STUDY BUTTE – According to the Elections Clerk, this is planned to happen.  She cannot release any information on date and time until Friday, Oct 23. The Moon will TRY to send out the information early Friday.  The number to call in Alpine is 837-6230. You will either get someone on the line, or you can leave a message.  They are good about calling people back.
