TERLINGUA AUTO SERVICE
Is no longer accepting used motor oil, and we have not been for a long while.  It is illegal to drop oil off when we are closed.  Dumping of used oil is classified as "illegal dumping of hazardous material" and is punishable by severe fines and penalties.  Whomever sells you the oil is required to accept the used oil back in equivalences.  We have no way to dispose of the excess oil and are being forced to enact strict compliance from the area in general.

BILL BOURBON HONOR FUND
Vietnam veteran Bill Bourbon has been invited to participate in an Honor Flight Network trip to Washington D.C. in May to visit the nation’s war memorials.  The non-profit organization provides charter air transport and pays all expenses for veterans from all over the country.  They have flown more than 160,000 veterans to see how the nation and its citizens have honored them in stone.  Almost 100 veterans will be aboard for this emotional trip.  Bill must have a “guardian” to help him out, and that will be his wife, Sarah.  Her expenses, however, will not be covered and will be at least $1600.  If you would like to help make Bill’s trip possible, please donate to the Bourbon Honor Flight account that has been set up at West Texas National Bank.

The Daughters of the American Revolution and the Alpine American Legion are looking for Vietnam Veterans to say WELCOME HOME and THANK YOU. Vets, you and your families are invited to come to the American Legion Hall in Aline on March 31st at 4:00  for a special commemoration honoring your service, valor, and sacrifice.   Bring your friends! This is our chance at long last to say Welcome Home to our Vietnam Veterans and is open to all Vietnam era veterans that served from November, 1955 to May, 1975.  It will be a great way for our community to learn about our Vietnam heroes and say thank you Vietnam Vets, on the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.   Come to the American Legion Hall on March 31st to be individually recognized and honored, as we celebrate Vietnam Veterans Day.  Families and friends, come and show your thanks, and show your patriotism at this event that you and your families will remember forever.   A Fish Fry fundraiser for Boy Scouts Troop #141 will follow the ceremony, plates are $10.  Details can be found on Facebook at Comanche Springs Chapter – NSDAR, or call 432-345-2189, 432-837-0044, or 432-294-1600.

BAILEY
Bailey is an 18 month old lab mix who was taken in by a big-hearted dog lover but whose need to find her permanent home has become urgent. Bailey loves people, snuggles, car rides, her bones, most other dogs and having her hair brushed. Her joy for life is infectious but she needs outlets for her energy and a human to a good friend. Bailey knows basic commands, walks well on a leash, is perfectly house trained and does fine in a crate when left alone. Bailey is looking for an adopter or a foster through 4/12/17. She can travel to the right home and trial adoptions are a possibility. For more information email mmwestttx@yahoo.com or call 432-294-1257
