From the 2nd and 3rd Grade Terlingua Paisanas  A BIG THANK YOU to all the parents, teachers, staff, administration, community members and visitors who contributed to all of our Bake Sale fundraisers. We are going to El Paso! Thank you Terlingua!

The Terlingua Paisanos will be hosting a pancake supper fundraiser and mini track meet March 19th starting at 5:30.  Bring your appetite and come watch our student athletes run, jump, and throw.

Come out and get into the BALL GAME this Sunday! We have plenty of gloves for everyone to play. The games start at 3pm, so get there early to warm up. AND - There are rumors of a game to be played on Sunday, March 29th between Terlingua and a Lajitas/TXDOT team. More information to come...The fields are located next to the Terlingua School.

Classical Music Concert ~  at the Cinnabar Theater* Thurs. March 26, 7pm.
Jane Brown - viola, Judy Eron - oboe, Kerry O'Hare - violin.  Works by Cremont, Templeton Strong, Taneyev. Never heard of those composers? Neither had we!  Performance will last about 1 hour with no intermission. Theater will be selling concessions. Free admission. There is limited seating at the theater, bring a folding chair in the event there is room to use it. (*Cinnabar Theater is located down the dirt road just south of the hardware store.)

One Day at a Time in Terlingua
AA is not affiliated with any religious organization but is grateful to the Big Bend Church (north of the post office) for allowing us to meet there.  Thurs., 7:30 p.m. (Closed Discussion).  Anyone with a desire to stop drinking or remain sober is welcome. Literature is available in our local library. Carpooling may be available to Alpine AA (Wed.) and Al-Anon (Thurs.) meetings. Contact phone numbers are posted on the church doors.

Thurs. March 26th: The Big Bend Library  
Join us for the second presentation in our new series of monthly programs. The topic for this month is "The Special Plants in Your Back Yard, featuring Betty Alex. Ms. Alex is a wildlife biologist who has worked for Big Bend National Park for 32 years. Big Bend Library is located on the campus of TCSD. Programs begin at 6:00 p.m., are free to the public, and include food and beverages. We look forward to seeing you there!

St. Paddy's Day Parade leaves from the old KKKK lot next to Easter Egg Motel at noon on Tuesday. Set up at 11:30 am. Then a BBQ/Shrimp Boil will take place at Passing Wind Ranch following the Parade. We ask for a $10 donation at the door. All money goes to Terlingua Fire and EMS. BYOB There will be some Rocket Fuel on hand for donations. This runs until Dark-30. The Doodlin' Hogwallops will be playing. La Kiva is donating the BBQ and Passing Wind Ranch & Ten Bits Ranch are donating the Shrimp Boil. Everyone is invited.

37 Postcards, a comedy by Michael McKeever, opens this weekend at the Cinnabar Theater.  Directed by Joe Sirotnak, this show has a great cast of actors; Bernadette Devine, Trevor Hickle, Jeannette Jurado, Miquel Jurado, Nola Lafayette, and Maria Lavender.  Three shows this weekend – Fri.,Sat.,and Sun. The Friday night opening Gala kicks off at 7 o'clock with complimentary champagne punch and hors d'oeuvres.  On Saturday &Sunday the doors will open at 7:15 for a 8:00 curtain.  The show will run the following weekend as well.  Ticket price is $10.00.  This is a Last Minute Low Budget Production at Terlingua's own community theater - on Highway 118, just before Bee Mountain Hardware.

The Boathouse is continuing with it's Spring Break hours this week; open daily from 11-3 for lunch and 4 - midnight (1 a.m. Saturday).  Dinner is offered from 5 - 9 daily.  Our Friday menu special is Shrimp Gumbo, Hush Puppies and all the fixins.  This week's music is exceptional with, among others, Greg Harkins on Friday and Butch and Rory Hancock playing Saturday night!
