CHIHUAHUAN DESERT BIKE FEST
Cyclists will roll into Big Bend for a mountain bike celebration brought to you by Desert Sports and Texas Parks & Wildlife. Rides on Thurs 2/12 - Sat 2/14  benefit the Big Bend Trails Alliance and include Big Bend National Park, Lajitas Trail System and Big Bend Ranch State Park. Kid's rides are free! Saturday evening music by the FABULOUS VORTEXANS! We invite the community to dance with us at the Lajitas Maverick RV Park Clubhouse.

BASEBALL FIELD CLEANUP AND GAME
On Sunday February 15th, AmeriCorps will be assisting in the cleanup of the baseball fields located at the Terlingua School. The cleanup will begin at 9am. A game will then take place at 4pm between AmeriCorps and a Terlingua team. We need a team! Please contact Bonnie Hill at 371-3078 or Buckner at 371-3339 or stop by the Starlight for more information.  Volunteers and tools are needed. Lunch will be provided for the workers.

SANTA INEZ IN THE TERLINGUA GHOST TOWN
Saturday, February 14th from 11am-1pm, Blessing of Otra Vez and Reception with Bishop Michael Vono of the Diocese of the Rio Grande. He was influential in giving the $13,000 grant that made the expansion possible. Please come to celebrate and enjoy some food and drink. Eucharist at Santa Inez in the Ghost Town at 3pm with special recognition to Father Mel of Redford.
Ash Wednesday Service February 18th at 4:30pm with Rev. Carolyn Metzler, 25 English and 25 Spanish Lenten Devotionals will be free for the taking as well. All are welcome.

TERLINGUA SCHOOL DISTRICT MEETING
Wednesday evening, February 11th, at 5:00pm in the BB High school conference room.
To: PARENTS, TEACHERS, RESIDENTS OF BREWSTER COUNTY AND THE TERLINGUA SCHOOL DISTRICT. There is an urgency that the public make firm plans to attend the next school board meeting.  It might just be the most important one ever held at TCSD.  No matter if you have never come before. No matter if you do not plan to attend another. Especially if you have felt intimidated into not attending in the past. No matter whether you have children in this school, or your children are past school age, even if you have no children at all and especially if you have transferred your children out of this school, or are homeschooling.

ONE DAY AT A TIME IN TERLINGUA
AA is not affiliated with any religious organization but is grateful to the Big Bend Church (north of the post office) for allowing us to meet there. Thursdays, at 7:30 p.m. (Closed Discussion). Anyone who has a desire to stop drinking or remain sober is welcome. Literature is available in our local library. Carpooling may be available to Alpine AA (Wednesdays) and Al-Anon (Thursdays) meetings. Contact phone numbers are posted on the church doors.

RECYCLING
Thanks to all who recycled properly, we were able to unload the trailer in record time.  Also thanks to Susan and Dan Carlson, John Calomeni, Todd Bureau, Zbynek Najser, Annabelle Rivard, and Sue and Joe Rife, for emptying the trailer; it is now open again for more recycling.
