Terlingua Community Garden invites you to participate in the upcoming events this week, Lunch and drinks provided:   WEDNESDAY the 28th, 8am until too hot, garden throw-down! We've got some new growers this season and we need to get things in shape to help them do their thing.  SATURDAY the 1st, 10-2, art, art, art! Come make your mark with paint, flags, or markers.   SATURDAY the 1st, 2pm, our first garden meeting of the fall season. Come submit your ideas!

The Terlingua Community Garden will be raffling off three awesome prizes at the GREEN SCENE on October 22nd! For just $10 per ticket (3 tickets for $25) you could win a 400W solar power kit ($750 value) or a Sun Oven solar cooker ($300 value) or a large radial clothesline ($200 value). Tickets available from Green Scene volunteers or the following businesses: Cottonwood Store, Terlingua Ranch Lodge, All Energies, La Kiva, and Shot Time Liquors. Big Bend High School has named Student Body President Jose Damian Villanueva as their DAR Good Citizen.  The Paisano Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution sponsors the program each year for graduating Seniors.  The young person selected must demonstrate the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, & patriotism.  The BBHS staff is proud to award this honor to Damian.

BBHS Student Council is asking for donations of school supplies to send to flooded Louisiana elementary schools.  After the devastating floods in late August and early September, several elementary schools do not have enough basic supplies for students.  There will be boxes for donations at the High School and at the Cottonwood from September 26-October 2.

The Terlingua Bottoms Group of AA meets every Thursday at 7:30 at the Big Bend Church in Study Butte.  The meetings are open to anyone who has or thinks they may have a drinking problem.

6pm Vigil;7 pm Live Music
If you cannot walk the 3.2 miles, join in at any time! For lunch break, come to the construction site for the finale!
